Privacy Policy

SHOWCASEME TECHNOLOGIES PRIVATE LIMITED ('we', 'us', or 'our'), a company incorporated in India, is the data controller (data fiduciary) responsible for the personal data described in this policy. For any privacy-related question, request to exercise your rights, or complaint, contact us at contact@showcaseme.in - we treat this as our dedicated privacy contact channel.

We may collect your name, email, profile image, social media handles, project links, and other personal information you submit while creating your portfolio. This data is only used to enhance your profile visibility. If you connect an app such as Claude, we record the IP address that approved the connection and the IP address it last connected from, and show them only to you under Connected apps; they are deleted when you disconnect the app.

Where applicable (including under the EU/UK GDPR), we rely on the following legal grounds to process your personal data: (a) Contract - to create and operate your account, host your portfolio, and provide the features you sign up for; (b) Consent - for optional processing such as analytics cookies and marketing emails, which you can withdraw at any time; (c) Legitimate Interests - to keep our platform secure, prevent abuse and fraud, and improve our services, balanced against your rights and interests; (d) Legal Obligation - to retain payment and invoice records where required by applicable tax, accounting, or other law.

You are free to share your Showcaseme portfolio across platforms, resumes, social networks, job portals, or anywhere else. You can also embed or link customized sections or external content directly.

All portfolio content and customization are user-generated. Copying designs, layouts, or unique structures from other users without permission is prohibited. Respect the originality of each portfolio.

Passwords are one-way hashed (bcrypt) and never stored in plain text. Traffic to our platform is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). We do not sell your personal details, and we do not share your credentials or personal details with third parties except where a service you use requires it (for example, Razorpay to process a payment). We do not currently apply field-level encryption to stored personal data beyond this; storage security otherwise relies on our hosting infrastructure's standard safeguards.

You can update or modify your data anytime via your profile settings. Your portfolio remains under your full control. You can also permanently delete your account from Dashboard → Settings → Danger Zone: this immediately anonymizes your personal identifiers, removes your portfolios and AI-generated templates along with their hosted images/files, and cancels any active subscription. This action cannot be undone.

Showcaseme is not responsible for uploaded images or files. If any uploaded asset is found to belong to someone else, the uploader must have prior consent or provide proper credit. Legal consequences are the sole responsibility of the uploader.

Users may upload AI-generated images, avatars, or other synthetic media to their portfolios. Showcaseme does not verify the authenticity, originality, or real-world representation of such content. Any trust, impression, or decision formed based on AI-generated visuals is the sole responsibility of the portfolio owner. Showcaseme is not liable for misrepresentation, misunderstandings, or reliance placed on such content.

We share personal data only with the following categories of recipients, and only as needed to provide our services: (a) Google / Firebase, our authentication provider, used for Sign in with Google; (b) Razorpay, our payment processor, used to process subscription payments. We do not sell your personal data and do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. Your GitHub, LinkedIn, or other social links on your portfolio are plain text fields you enter yourself, not OAuth integrations - we don't connect to or receive data from those platforms. Google's and Razorpay's own privacy policies apply to the data they process on their side.

Your portfolio may be indexed by search engines and accessed publicly. You can manage visibility preferences anytime.

Showcaseme is not intended for individuals under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Any activity deemed abusive, illegal, or exploitative may result in content removal and permanent account suspension.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate terms, post prohibited content, or misuse platform functionality.

Portfolios may contain links to external websites. Showcaseme is not responsible for content or privacy practices on third-party sites.

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, Showcaseme acts as a Data Fiduciary and you are a Data Principal with these rights: (a) Right to Access - request a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it's processed; (b) Right to Correction - fix inaccurate or incomplete data via your profile settings; (c) Right to Erasure - permanently delete your account and associated data at any time from Dashboard → Settings → Danger Zone; (d) Right to Withdraw Consent - withdraw any consent you previously gave (e.g. analytics cookies, marketing emails), as easily as you gave it; (e) Right to Grievance Redressal - raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer if you're unsatisfied with how we've handled your data or a request. Submit any of these requests through our Data Rights Request form, or email our Grievance Officer at contact@showcaseme.in. We aim to respond within a reasonable timeframe. If unresolved, you may also approach the Data Protection Board of India.

Where we rely on your consent (analytics cookies, marketing emails, and processing form submissions), we ask for it separately for each purpose, with unticked checkboxes you must actively select - we never pre-tick these for you. A cookie banner lets you accept, reject, or manage analytics cookies on your first visit, and you can withdraw consent at any time via the Data Rights Request form. Consent records (what you agreed to, when, and under which version of this notice) are stored so we can demonstrate compliance if asked.

We retain your personal data only as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we anonymize your name, email, and username immediately, and remove your portfolios, AI-generated templates, and their hosted images/files. Some records, such as payment and invoice history, may be retained for a longer period where required by applicable tax, accounting, or legal obligations, and are not linked back to your deleted profile.

This policy may change periodically. Any revisions will be updated on this page with a revised date.
