Build your portfolio website by talking to Claude. Connect Showcaseme to Claude once, describe the portfolio you want, and Claude designs it, checks it and saves it to your account.

What is Showcaseme MCP

Showcaseme MCP is a server that speaks the Model Context Protocol, the open standard Claude uses to work with other apps. Once it is connected, Claude can create portfolio templates for developers, photographers and UI/UX designers, check them against Showcaseme's design rules, save them to your account and list the ones you already have.

You stay in control: Claude only gets the permissions you approve, and you can disconnect it at any time.

Requirements

A Showcaseme Pro or Enterprise account.
A Claude account on claude.ai or Claude Desktop. The Free plan works too, but it allows only one custom connector at a time.

Connect Claude

Setup takes about a minute and needs only this URL:

Open claude.ai
Sign in to Claude in your browser.
Choose Customize
In the left sidebar, click Customize.
Choose Connectors
Open Connectors. It shows the Discover tab first.
Switch to With you
Select With you instead of Discover. This lists the connectors you added yourself.
Free plan: remove your old custom connector
Free Claude accounts can have only one custom connector. If one is already listed, open its menu and choose Remove. Paid Claude plans can skip this step.
Click Add + and paste the Showcaseme URL
Name it Showcaseme and paste https://apis-beta.showcaseme.in/mcp as the remote MCP server URL, then click Add. No API key or config file is needed.
Connect and allow access
Click Connect next to Showcaseme. Claude opens showcaseme.in: if you are signed in, allow access once. Then ask Claude for the portfolio you want.

Claude Desktop

If your Claude Desktop app has no connector settings, add Showcaseme to its config file instead. It runs the same sign-in and approval flow.

What Claude can do

Claude uses these Showcaseme tools. Each one needs a permission you approve when you connect.

Be specific about the type of portfolio, the mood, the colours and what you want to show off first. For example:

Security and privacy

You approve access on showcaseme.in using OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. Claude never receives your password.
Claude gets only three permissions: view, create and deploy templates. Nothing else in your account.
Access tokens expire after one hour and renew automatically. A copied token stops working.
Everything Claude sends is size-limited and validated before it reaches your account.
Disconnecting ends Claude's access immediately.

Disconnect

Go to Dashboard, Integrations, Claude and choose Disconnect next to Claude. You can also remove the connector in Claude's settings.

Troubleshooting

Claude will not let you add another connector: On the Free Claude plan you can have only one custom connector. Go to Customize, then Connectors, then With you, remove the one that is there and add Showcaseme again.
Claude says authorization failed right after you allowed access: Remove the connector in Claude, add it again with the exact URL above and approve once more.
The approval page keeps sending you back to sign in: Sign in at showcaseme.in in the same browser first, then add the connector again.
It worked before and now every request fails: Access was disconnected (from your dashboard, or after a security update on our side). Reconnect in Claude and approve once.
Claude says a template could not be saved: Ask Claude to run the quality check first and fix what it reports. Its check names each problem, such as a layout Showcaseme does not support.

FAQ

Which plan do I need?+

Showcaseme MCP is part of Showcaseme Pro and Enterprise. On the Claude side any plan works, including Free; the Free plan allows one custom connector at a time.

What is MCP?+

The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets AI assistants like Claude use tools from other apps. Showcaseme runs an MCP server, so Claude can create and manage your portfolio templates for you.

Does Claude see my password?+

No. You approve on showcaseme.in with OAuth 2.1 and PKCE. Claude receives a short-lived token for the permissions you allowed, never your password.

Where do templates made in Claude go?+

To Dashboard, then Templates, in your Showcaseme account. Claude also replies with a preview link.

Can Claude publish my portfolio?+

Yes. After you confirm the address, Claude publishes the saved template as your live portfolio. You can also publish from your dashboard.

Can Claude read my personal details?+

No. The connector works with templates only. It cannot read your messages, billing or profile.

How do I stop access?+

Go to Dashboard, then Integrations, then Claude, and choose Disconnect. Access ends immediately.
